Welcome to Summer of Chill, home of the good times happening across Tatsu-Ya spots during peak hot AF season in Texas. We’re keeping it light and refreshing with icy drinks, cold noods, fresh new dishes, and chill vibes. Grab some friends and take a few field trips to taste your way across Tatsu-Ya MULTIVERSE this summer!

RAMEN TATSU-YA

RAMEN TATSU-YA

At our nationally-recognized, authentic Japanese ramen shops spread across Austin, Round Rock, and Houston, slurp these up to stay cool.

COLD NOODS: Spicy Chilled, our take on Hiyashi Chukka, a sino-Japanese cold noodle dish, is kind of like a salad, but it’s not. It’s even better. Choose the Classic (featuring Pirikara Pork) or Hot Chx (crowned with Hot Chicken Karaage) version of the dish and prepare for the freshness brought to you by cool noodles, crunchy veggies and a killer citrus soy dressing. The Kyuri Kup, which tastes like a cucumber limeade, is the official beverage sidekick—don’t miss it.

SLUSHIES: Our newly-opened Round Rock shop is pouring Guavarito (with sake) and Lemon Chill (non alcoholic) slushies. Sip slowly for maximum enjoyment, and to avoid brain freeze, duh! At all other shops, kick back with one of our rotating slushie flavors.

SOFT SERVE: For the first time ever, we’ve brought soft serve to Ramen Tatsu-Ya Round Rock, the Ichigoma Dream. It’s a creamy Japanese soda flavor with fresh strawberries and toasted, ground black sesame on top.

DOMO ALLEY-GATO TATSU-YA

DOMO ALLEY-GATO TATSU-YA

Over at the playful, tachinomiya-inspired, dog friendly patio bar adjacent to Ramen Tatsu-Ya Comal, there are shady trees and powerful misters keeping the temps down so you can keep the party up. Plus:

OTSUKARE HAPPY HOUR: Inspired by the Japanese custom of Otsukare, where co-workers express appreciation for each other's hard work at the day's end, Domo’s helping you get through the dog days of summer with $2 off cocktails and sake, $3 wells, $4 pints, and 50% off small bites Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., exclusively for dine-in.

100 DEGREE COLD CAPS: Here’s something that’ll make you glad when the temp registers 100°F or more. Order a Kirin Ichiban Lager and you’ll get a free Frozen Foam Cap! It’s a Domo classic that takes the coolness level up a few notches.

KEMURI TATSU-YA

KEMURI TATSU-YA

If you haven’t been to Kemuri, our Japanese Izakaya Meets Texas Smokehouse on East 7th Street, now’s the time. ICYMI, The New York Times named it one of the 20 best Texas barbecue restaurants from the new generation. Since that article came out, a larger part of our patio is now enclosed, and it feels real good. We’ve rolled out a special summertime-inspired menu with exciting eats and drinks.

DRINKS: Mizore-zake is a fun drink which pours like sleet. For real! On the NA side, try our signature drinks without booze (Matcha Painkiller or Grapefruit Sour) or grab a Hibiscus Lemonade.

EATS: Grill your own Smoked Bologna atop a tableside Shichirin Grill, then put it inside Bao with all the fixings. It’s like having a cookout, but way cuter. You can also go for a Sashimi Trio with rotating fish features and a bottle of sake to wash it all down. And that’s just the start.

TIKI TATSU-YA

TIKI TATSU-YA

Everybody’s favorite immersive tiki bar on South Lamar is already designed for Texas summers. It’s always cool inside, plus the tropical vibes (and drinks) are strong. Yes, it is paradise in your own backyard. Now there’s double the fun, under the same roof.

THE RETREAT AT THE NEST: Exclusively on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5 pm - close, this new lo-fi tiki experience allows travelers to take a sabbatical on a private ‘beach’ atop Tiki Tatsu-Ya; there’s a bright, tropical line-up of approachable cocktails, daiquiris, highballs, beer and cider that come out quickly by way of friendly, easygoing bar service. No reservations are needed. Actually, they’re not even a thing on this 2nd floor ‘Retreat.’

DIPDIPDIP TATSU-YA

DIPDIPDIP TATSU-YA

Our Japanese shabu-shabu restaurant was once named the best new restaurant in America. Five years in, dipdipdip is adding a host of fresh, new options and layers, which will allow guests to choose their own adventure. For now, all we can say is that you’ll probably want to make a reservation for July 17, the day we’ll introduce the refreshed dipdipdip to the world.
